About Legacy (2)

Freestyle group from Chicago, Illinois.

The history of Legacy starts in 1989, when Freestyle artist Joel Rodriguez from East Chicago Indiana and Jesse Settle met and founded the singing group "Duo", which eventully became Legacy. The name originated as "Latin Legacy", but then was shortened to a catchier "Legacy".

The first release was "Girls Do it Just For Fun" in 1989, released on own label "International Latin House Records", along with tracks from Antonio Suarez Jr and Code 3 on the flipside.

In 1991, Joel Rodriguez left to pursue a solo career.
Settle continued as three-piece band along with "Hot Mix Javie" (Javier Romero) and Juanie Rodriguez.

After several choices and negotiations, the band decided to sign up with DJ International Records wich re-released "Girls Do it Just For Fun" in 1991/1992, with helping hands of JJ Flores.

In 1994 Juanie Rodriguez left the group and was replaced by Eric D. Perez, but eventually Rodriguez came back to join Legacy once more.

In 1995, Jesse Settle, along with Javier Romero went to jail where they still are today (2009). Both claim being not guilty.
